October 27th, 2009Handling Credit Card Debt

Credit card debt is a much discussed topic in both financial and public circles. A large section of the population has has gotten itself into trouble with credit card debt.

The main reason for so many credit card related casualties is that many people don’t understand the idea of credit cards properly. They treat credit cards as free money. So all the discipline, which would otherwise have been exercised when spending hard-earned money, goes by the by.

Which means that people overspend and get into credit card debt. They keep spending till they arrive at the credit limit on their credit card. Some people treat it like a game and consider it a defeat (or consider their credit card under utilised) if they don’t hit the credit limit fast enough. These unnecessary spends result in a state where they are not able to pay back their credit card debts and end up paying interest on the amount they owe.

This keeps building up their credit card debt and they soon find that the interest component has become a normal feature in their monthly expenses and it is there even if they spend nothing on their credit card. That is credit card debt at its worst. Soon they find that their present credit card can no longer satisfy their needs and they start looking around to get another credit card. With the additional credit, they let themselves loose again and follow a keep spending routine. In a little while the credit limit of the new credit card is reached too and they again shirk on payments. This is how credit card debt accumulate.

After a while, they might find out about credit card debt consolidation and other credit card debt eradication techniques. They are quick to grab such credit card debt reduction techniques, but that’s not because they are serious about reducing their credit card debt but because of the appealing low APR offers. As if it were treasure, they again get back to building up their credit card debt. All the while they are spoiling their credit card status and they soon realise that no one is prepared to loan them any money because of their credit history.

At this point, they can only get a secured credit card (ie where you first deposit money into your credit card account and then only do you get the privilege of spending it (50-100% of it) using a credit card. Credit card debt collection agencies, the auction of their goods and bankruptcy is the next thing that awaits them and their dream is blown away in a moment.

Don’t get caught up with credit card debt. You cannot win, unless you die.

October 27th, 2009TUF The Ultimate Fighter

UFC Ultimate Fighter TUF is an extremely popular reality television series about mixed martial arts (MMA) competition; the show started in the U.S.A, and produced and televised by Spike TV and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) The show is currently on its tenth season . On the UFC Ultimate Fighter TUF show, professional MMA fighters that have yet to make a name for themselves are situated in a house outside of Las Vegas and compete against each other for the title of The Ultimate Fighter TUF, winning a six figure and a multi fight contract with the UFC. They spend weeks in the house with no outside contact of any sort.

In the first four seasons, the TUF contestants were selected in two weight classes. The fighters were also divided into two teams, irrespective of weight class, each team coached by a current UFC star. The teams then compete to determine which team would have the right to pair one of their own fighters against an opponent of their choice in the same weight class, the loser being eliminated from competition. At the end of a competition, the two remaining fighters of each weight class are placed in a single MMA fight, where the title of UFC Ultimate Fighter TUF is awarded to the winner. From season five to season seven, all fighters competed in the same weight class.

In the show they feature the daily preparations each fighter makes to train for the competition and the interactions they have with each other living under the same roof. White has been one of the main reasons the UFC’s success to the popularity of The Ultimate Fighter.

Did you know that with the exception of the season finales, fights on The Ultimate Fighter are sanctioned by the Nevada Athletic Commission as exhibition matches and do not count for or against a fighter’s professional record. This is done to keep the results from going public before the air date.

The winners of the first three seasons of The Ultimate Fighter TUF competition, and certain runners-up depending on their performance in their competition finals, receive the touted “six-figure” contract to fight in the UFC. These contracts are specifically three-year contracts with a guaranteed first year. Each year consists of three fights, the first year’s purse per fight consists of $12,000 guaranteed with a $12,000 win bonus (a maximum of $24,000 per fight), the second year’s purse per fight is $16,000 with a $16,000 win bonus (a maximum of $32,000 per fight) and the third year’s purse per fight is at $22,000 with a $22,000 win bonus (a maximum of $44,000 per fight). A TUF winner who goes 9-0 can earn $300,000 total on the contract, but only $150,000 is guaranteed for all three years if 9 fights are fought.

Those that have not won the competition can still fight in the UFC. Their contracts however are not the same as the six-figure deal above.

October 27th, 2009UFC To Be The Number One Sport

UFC Ultimate fighter is fast becoming one of the biggest shows in America. Will it ever be the number one? Well, I guess that depends on who you ask. I personally think the sport is just going to continue getting bigger. I’m not sure if it will ever be the number one sport though. This sport does appeal to a lot of age groups, which could be why the sport is expanding at such an incredible rate.

Why is UFC Ultimate Fighter show gaining such wide audiences? Is it because of the short, fast paced, 5 minute rounds, which can be a non-stop adrenaline rush! With fights ending in knockout or submissions before the first round even ends. Is it because the sport appeals to so many different age groups or is it because it’s new and exciting, will it phase out in a few years?

With the UFC being noticed now for being athletes, who train just as hard, perhaps even harder than normal athletes! Will this sport finally gain the respect it deserves? It used to be called a blood sport or cock fighting. In fact I believe some people still regard the sport as that. Do people realize the discipline involved now, the constant workouts for strength, conditioning and of course the martial arts training.

With the fighters spending weeks in a house together with no television, phones, well basically any outside communication is banned. You can imagine the stress these fighters go through. Hopefully it will be worth it all for one fighter that will win a six figure UFC contract.

This sport has gone through some remarkable transformations over the years. The UFC has done remarkable things for MMA with the UFC Ultimate Fighter show. What one was viewed only by a few thousand people at most, to now broad casted to millions of people over America.

With impressive sales and huge demand, the UFC is the number one place for fighters to go to. If you want to fight the best fighters in the world you will have to break into the UFC ranks. Once there you will be able to make a very nice living, well if you’re good.

So if you’re new to this sport, and you have just starting to follow the UFC Ultimate Fighter show you are in for a great ride. If you’re already a fan and have been following the show for a while, I’m sure you will agree with me, this is a fantastic sport which will only get bigger.

If you’re a fan of UFC or MMA then check out UFC Ultimate Fighter TUF. It’s a great website for UFC news and Videos. Also check it out for all the TUF videos. Grab a totally unique version of this article from the Uber Article Directory

October 27th, 2009Acne Is Not The Same As Spots

There are several different kinds of acne, depending on how or why the acne arose. Some of the forms of acne are: acne conglobata (chronic boils); acne fulminans (an extreme form of conglobata); acne cosmetica (caused by cosmetics); acne keloidalis nuchae (from shaving); acne medicamentosa (caused by starting or stopping a medication); acne rosacea (redness on the face); baby acne; hormonal acne; cloracne and the common variety, acne vulgaris (also known as ‘puberty spots’). In this article, we will take a closer look at acne vulgaris.

Acne vulgaris may be defined as: ‘an inflammatory disease of the skin, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, spots or zits’ (according to Wikipedia).

Acne is most usually found in white Western teenagers, although it is to be found in every country in the world, so there may be a genetic weakness to it. It is possible that it may be an exceptional reaction to quite normal levels of testosterone. For most afflicted, the condition lasts only until the age of twenty or so, probably only a few years or at the most ten. For other people, however, it may be a life-long affliction. It most often appears on the face, upper-chest, upper-arms and back. However, an occasional spot does not constitute acne.

Acne vulgaris manifests itself in different many forms, including: whiteheads, resulting from pores which are completely blocked, trapping sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells, causing a white spot on the top; blackheads, caused by pores which are only partially blocked, allowing some of the trapped sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to slowly drain to the surface (the black colour is not a result of dirt, but is a reaction of the skin’s own pigment, called melanin, with the oxygen in the air); papules, which are inflamed, red, tender lumps with no head and pustules, which are like whiteheads, but are inflamed, and look like red circles with a white or yellow centre.

Whiteheads do not usually last for a long time; blackheads do last a long time and pustules are what people usually refer to as spots or zits. Severe acne vulgaris is distinguished by nodules and cysts. A ‘nodule’ is a rather larger and much more painful kind of pustule and can often last for months. Nodules are large, hard lumps just under the skin. They frequently cause scarring and should never for any reason be squeezed, since this could make them last for months longer.

A ‘cyst’ can appear like a nodule, but it is full of pus and has been described as having a diameter of at least 5mm and, again, can cause scars and cause irritation. Squeezing an acne cyst can cause a more severe infection and more acute inflammation which may last quite a lot longer than if it had not been squeezed. Dermatologists have methods of lessening the swelling and preventing scarring with both nodules and cysts. It is just not true that acne sufferers are not careful about cleanliness.

In fact, over washing can exacerbate acne. There are many, many fake ‘cures’ on the market and many, many old wives’ tales, but any good skin expert would advise you that there is no known cure for acne and that the patient should follow a strict regimen of cleansing until the acne just ‘disappears’ of its own accord.

October 26th, 2009The Hybrid Car and its History

Just where did a hybrid car get it’s origins? Read on to find out. Hybrid cars are very popular to today’s car buyers and there are many reasons why that should be. But before you even think about choosing which hybrid car to buy, you might want to know a little about the history of the hybrid first.

Surprisingly, hybrid cars were around even before gas-powered cars. Back in about the year 1665, a Jesuit priest by the name of Ferdinand Verbeist began plans for a certain type of vehicle. That vehicle would be very simple, nothing complex, or intricate. Simple was all he wanted.

So it was that Ferdinand designed a car that would have four wheels and would run on steam. It took roughly fifteen years of sweat and toil for Ferdinand to go through with his plan. He laboured to perfect his dream car. But no one knows for certain if he ever finished it because there is no physical evidence that his concept ever passed into reality.

Then in 1769, a man with the name of Nicholas Cugnot designed and developed a carriage that was powered by steam. This carriage really did work and it went at six miles per hour. This project was all well and good, but it was difficult to get the amount of steam needed to allow the car to go any significant distance.

A break through in hybrid car design finally came when Robert Anderson developed an electrically powered car in 1839. It was the first of its breed and was built in Scotland.

This model electric car was a highly applauded innovation of its time. However, the only problem was that it was very difficult to recharge the car’s battery. Some pioneers did come after Anderson, but they had the same problem of getting the battery recharged easily.

Finally in the year 1898 Porsche produced an electric and fuel combustion engine that was the first of its time. The car was called the Lohner Electric Chaise, and it could go up to 40 miles just using batteries.

Within a short space of time, pioneers combined both gas and a battery powered engines to power what would become today’s hybrid vehicle. In 1999, Honda made a leap into the US market. It came out with the Honda Insight, which was a lightweight two-door hybrid. Since then, hybrid cars have been evolving and improving into what we see on the market today. Hybrid cars are no longer just for the techies who think it’s cool to combine battery and fuel power to get them where they want to go. Hybrid cars began life simple, and they are still quite simple today.

Now hybrid cars are becoming more and more popular as people understand them more. Hybrid cars in the 21st century saw a boom in sales when the Toyota Prius came out on the market. It was the first hybrid with four doors that was marketed in America.

Then, Ford’s Escape hybrid became the very first SUV hybrid ever made. So there, you have it, the history of the hybrid vehicle, today’s modern car.

October 26th, 2009Golfing for Novices: Part Two

“Drive for show, putt for dough” is the lesson we’ve all seen and learned from watching the professional golfers in every tournament and championship either live or on TV.

The champions of golf can drive a ball from here to kingdom-come, but it all comes down to how many strokes it takes to get the ball in the hole. The long accurate drives don’t mean anything if you’re unable to putt accurately.

Your choice of putter is very important, but using the putter you have consistently, is even more so. I’ve had the same putter for fifteen years, so I know what it feels like in my hand, I know it’s weight and I know how that plays into my putts.

Putting takes a great deal of practice. For example, typically, we drive the ball eighteen times during a game, but putt at least twice that amount. So doesn’t it make sense that we should practice our putting at least twice as much as our driving? So, if you can’t get to the practice green often enough, just practice on your carpet at home.

Bear in mind that the ball can not make it to the hole, if it doesn’t have enough power behind it to get it in there. So, take the time to get down on your knees and look at the path from your ball to the hole. Does it slope one way or the other? Does it run uphill or downhill?

Stand with your feet spread for balance and line up the putt. Keep you hands, arms and shoulders completely still. Imagine that you are a “bobble head” but you move from just below your chest. Keep your head directly over the ball. Pull your club back; keep your hands, wrists, arms and shoulders steady – the movement comes from your chest. Hit the ball, following it through with your club.

Learn from each putt and remember the lesson. Practice, practice, practice!

The Microsoft MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) course is perfect for anybody thinking of getting into supporting networks. Whether you want to get into IT or already have knowledge but need to formalise your skills with a recognised qualification, the right training exists for you.

To achieve certification at the level of MCSA there are four MCP’s (Microsoft Certified Professional exams) needed to be passed. If you’re joining the industry for the first time, you’ll probably be required to learn a few things before doing the first of the four MCP’s. Search for a training organisation with people who can guide you towards the best way forward for you and will take care to start you at the right entry level.

Workshops can be offered as a big positive benefit by many trainers. After a good chat with most IT students that have tried them out, you’ll find they generally end up being seen as a waste of time because of many things:

* Recurrent travelling – very long trips in more cases than not.

* Weekday accessibility with events is typically the case, and trying to take several days leave in a single chunk is usually problematic for most working students.

* Annual leave lost – the majority of workers only have 20 days holiday. If you use up half of that with educational classes, you haven’t got a great deal of holiday time remaining for the student.

* Training workshops usually reach their maximum intake very quickly, leaving us with a less-than-ideal slot.

* Many students want to study at a slower or quicker pace than the rest of the class. This creates tension in the class.

* And let’s not disregard the extra financial outlay of travelling or bed and breakfast for the night either. Don’t be surprised to find this become many hundreds of pounds more – sometimes thousands. Sit down and add it up – it’ll shock and surprise you.

* Maintaining the privacy of our training is often very important to most attendees. You don’t want to sacrifice any lift up the ladder, wage increases or accomplishment at work just because you’re retraining. If your employer knows you’re putting yourself through training in a different industry, what are they going to be thinking?

* Who amongst us hasn’t avoided asking a question, because we wanted to look smarter?

* If your work takes you away from home, you now have to deal with the fact that workshops sometimes become difficult to get to – unfortunately however, the money has already been paid.

Wouldn’t it be better to watch on-screen and learn with instructors one-on-one from pre-made modules, working on them when it’s convenient for you, not someone else.

Just imagine… Utilising a laptop then you could work in the garden, a park, or just outside. And 24 hr-a-day support is only a web-browser click away if you hit challenges.

Repeat lessons and modules as often as you want – doing something over will help you remember it. And you can forget taking notes – everything is already laid on.

The final upshot: Reduced hassle and stress, more money in the bank, and no travelling or long journeys.

The market provides a glut of work available in the IT industry. Arriving at the correct choice in this uncertainty is generally problematic.

What chances do most of us have of understanding what is involved in a particular job when we haven’t done that before? We normally have never met anyone who works in that sector anyway.

To get to the bottom of this, we need to discuss a number of different aspects:

* Your personality can play a major role – what gives you a ‘kick’, and what are the activities that get you down.

* Do you want to get qualified due to a certain raison d’etre – for example, is it your goal to work from home (self-employment?)?

* Is salary further up on your list of priorities than other factors.

* Getting to grips with what the main Information technology roles and sectors are – plus how they’re different to each other.

* What effort, commitment and time you’re prepared to commit your training.

Ultimately, the most intelligent way of covering these is through a meeting with an advisor or professional that knows the industry well enough to provide solid advice.

(C) 2009. Look at LearningLolly.com for superb advice on MCSA Certification and MCSA Training Courses.

We all have busy lives, and most often if we desire to improve our career prospects, getting educated outside of working hours is what we have to do. Microsoft authorised training can be the way to do it.

In addition, you may hope to be given advice on the jobs to be had once you have passed your exams, and what sort of person such positions might be right for. Lots of people like to get advice on what would suit them individually.

Once you’ve decided on the career track for you, you’ll need a relevant course tailored to your needs. The standard of teaching ought to be of an excellent standard.

One useful service provided by many trainers is a programme of Job Placement assistance. This is designed to assist your search for your first position. Don’t get overly impressed with this service – it’s easy for their marketing department to overplay it. At the end of the day, the need for well trained IT people in the United Kingdom is what will make you attractive to employers.

CV and Interview advice and support might be provided (if it isn’t, consult one of our sites). Ensure you bring your CV right up to date right away – not when you’re ready to start work!

Having the possibility of an interview is more than not being known. A decent number of junior support jobs are bagged by trainees (who’ve only just left first base.)

The most efficient companies to help you land that job are generally independent and specialised local recruitment services. As they will get paid by the employer when they’ve placed you, they’ll work that much harder to get a result.

Essentially, as long as you focus the same level of energy into getting a position as into studying, you won’t find it too challenging. Some trainees curiously spend hundreds of hours on their training course and then just stop once they’ve passed their exams and seem to expect employers to find them.

A fatal Faux-Pas that many potential students make is to focus entirely on getting a qualification, and take their eye off the end result they want to achieve. Universities have thousands of students that chose an ‘interesting’ course – rather than what would get them an enjoyable career or job.

It’s not unheard of, for example, to obtain tremendous satisfaction from a year of studying and then spend 20 miserable years in a tiresome job role, entirely because you stumbled into it without the correct level of soul-searching when you should’ve – at the outset.

It’s a good idea to understand the expectations of your industry. Which particular qualifications you’ll need and how you’ll go about getting some commercial experience. You should also spend a little time considering how far you’d like to get as often it can control your selection of certifications.

Seek out help from an experienced industry advisor who understands the sector you wish to join, and who can give you ‘A typical day in the life of’ synopsis of what duties you’ll be performing day-to-day. It’s good sense to understand whether or not this is right for you long before your course begins. There’s really no point in starting to train and then realise you’ve made a huge mistake.

Traditional teaching in classrooms, using textbooks and whiteboards, is usually pretty hard going. If all this is ringing some familiar bells, check out study materials that are multimedia based.

We see a huge improvement in memory retention with an involvement of all our senses – educational experts have expounded on this for years now.

Find a course where you’re provided with an array of CD and DVD based materials – you’ll be learning from instructor videos and demo’s, with the facility to fine-tune your skills in fully interactive practice sessions.

It’s wise to view examples of the courseware provided before you sign on the dotted line. Always insist on videoed instructor demonstrations and a variety of audio-visual and interactive sections.

Seek out physical media such as CD or DVD ROM’s whenever you can. This then avoids all the potential pitfalls with the variability of broadband quality and service.

Considering how a program is ‘delivered’ to you isn’t always given the appropriate level of importance. In what way are your training elements sectioned? And in what sequence and do you have a say in when you’ll get each part?

Normally, you’ll join a programme taking 1-3 years and get sent one module each time you pass an exam. This sounds logical on one level, until you consider this:

Maybe the order of study pushed by the company’s salespeople doesn’t suit all of us. It may be difficult to get through each and every section at the speed required?

To be in the best situation you would have all the training materials packed off to you immediately; every single thing! This prevents any future issues from rising that will affect your capability of finishing.
